Gear Gathering at the Bike Ranch, Hosted by Radical Roots
Mar

Gear Gathering at the Bike Ranch, Hosted by Radical Roots

Hosted by Radical Roots MTB!

All ages are welcome from 4:30-6:30pm and adults, 18+, are welcome until 8:30pm.

The Bike Ranch (TBR) is a privately owned, covered pumptrack just outside of town and a perfect venue for practicing bike handling skills and connecting with our community. All levels are welcomed and Radical Roots MTB will have some coaches on hand to offer pointers for safe, fun progression.

A "Gear Gathering" will be hosted throughout the night so if you have some new or slightly used cycling gear that you want to pass along (clothing, knee pads, shoes, gloves, etc) we will stage a specially designed "shopping spree" to help riders get and give gear. All sizes are welcome as there will be kids and adults attending.

Along with any gear you want to donate, don't forget to bring some warm layers and a helmet, bring a bike or borrow one from The Bike Ranch demo fleet.

The ideal bike for TBR is a BMX or Dirt Jump/Pumptrack bike so leave your MTBs at home. Come alone or bring some friends, parking is tight so carpooling is encouraged.

We suggest a $5-$10 donation for the venue but no registration or sign-ups are required. We'll have a bonfire going to keep us warm between riding laps on the track and your gracious hosts, Radical Roots MTB and Shifting Gears will have snacks and refreshments to keep you fueled.

"Self Compassion" Workshop at Wander Brewing
Mar
1

"Self Compassion" Workshop at Wander Brewing

Join us for a transformative and supportive workshop designed specifically for women, led by local art therapist, Sarah Weber. This interactive workshop will guide you through the key components of self-compassion, including mindfulness, self-kindness, and common humanity, helping you develop a deeper, more nurturing relationship with yourself.

Through a creative practice, participants will explore how to apply the principles of self-compassion to their everyday lives. As we engage in this process, we will foster a safe and open space for community conversation, encouraging vulnerability and connection. Sharing our experiences and challenges in a supportive group will highlight the importance of treating ourselves with respect and empathy, particularly during difficult times.

As women, it’s all too easy to fall into patterns of self-criticism, often driven by societal pressures and unmet needs. Our culture frequently emphasizes individuality and achievement, sometimes at the cost of our well-being. Self-compassion offers a refreshing shift by encouraging us to embrace our imperfections, accept reality as it is and treat ourselves with kindness, especially when facing struggles. It invites us to remember that we are not alone in our hardships. By fostering a sense of shared humanity, self-compassion allows us to connect not only with ourselves but also with others, recognizing that we all navigate similar challenges. This deeper connection, both inwardly and with others, helps us release the pressure to be perfect and instead, honor our collective experiences of resilience and growth.

Whether you are looking to strengthen your emotional well-being, deepen your self-awareness, or simply connect with like-minded women, this workshop will offer valuable tools and insights to support your personal growth. Together, we’ll explore how self-compassion can become a source of strength and healing, helping you navigate life’s challenges with grace and kindness.
